Three Ways to Experience More Love

Written By: Christopher May  No Comment

“After our daily labors, let us gather to discourse about the heart. It will lead us beyond the domains of Earth toward the Subtle World, in order to bring us closer to the sphere of Fire.” Master Morya, Signs of Agni Yoga, Heart, 1932.

When I am feeling lonely, isolated or weary, I read from the words of one of the Great Masters, Master Morya. In the book, Heart, He speaks about all ways of Love and how to draw closer to the deep Heart of Life. His words always refresh me because they broaden my mind beyond the pettiness of self-pity, selfishness and self-clinging to my own ego.

Much of the disconnection you and I feel is caused by a limitation in the way we look at and live our lives. Our hearts do not yet fully embrace unconditional love. There are moments of deep connection when a short burst of deep love, unconditional love and true Heart is experienced. Several of the most notable moments are when we engage in a selfless act of service, or at the birth of a child and when making a sacrifice for the benefit of others.

As you think about the Heart, about loving others because their need is great, then the heart blossoms opening up to your true potential. When the heart opens there is a union with Heart energy itself, or higher love energy, uniting you with higher worlds. New energy flows in from the Subtle World, and then the Fiery Worlds as well charging your personality with a jolt. If you think back to moments when this took place it always left a strong impression usually lasting a lifetime.

When Master Morya speaks about the Subtle World, He means the highest levels of the emotional plane where pure love can be found. That love is what people who have had the near death experiences describe as a warmth, brightness and feeling of complete connection beyond anything normally experienced while connected to the physical body. The good news it that you and I do not have to wait to pass away to connect with that love which is so powerfully unconditional. You can simply access it little by little, more and more each day through small form of daily discipline. The more you open the gate to love, the more love flows in and through you to others. This is what saints describe as the love of God.

Love in essence is an energy field of tremendous potential. This energy field exists right now in this moment. You simply need to access it which will then allow more love to flow into your life.

Reading the teachings or engaging in acts of love connects us source of Love. There is an ocean of Love energy available in the Universe, in fact too much for us to handle, so the flow is just a trickle.

How can you have more love in more love in your life?

There are three ways to experience more love in your life:

1. Study the teachings of Love each day for 20 minutes. This will cause dramatic changes overtime. There are many sources but you will find Heart an excellent source. As you study the higher forms of love written about by spiritual masters and teachers it builds a bridge between your mind and heart and the source of Love. The bridges you build provide images, thoughts and examples of ways to affirm how to open to Love through your daily life. As you think, so you become. As you act in love, then Love will flow through your life more fully.

2. Cultivate Loving Kindness meditation as a daily practice. There are several good Loving Kindness audio and DVD series on this topic found here. One title which is exceptional is From Fear To Fearlessness. Another is Loving Kindness Meditations and finally, Pema Chodron Collection which includes Pure Meditation.

3. Make a commitment to take at least one deliberate of service each day for someone. This can be any form of service, from recitation of a silent prayer, to helping a friend with a project, sending a card to one who needs cheering up, or making peace with an office co-worker with whom you have experienced some tensions. As you make an intention to act daily with loving motivation new ways to express love will spontaneously arise in your mind. Inner guidance will be given to you on what will make the biggest impact IF you make a decision to express more love towards others.

There is always risk in performing service if you have expectations for the outcome. It is better to simply do something for the welfare of another regardless of the response, or whether they express gratitude.

Remember too that love begins within your own mind and heart, and then extends out to those around you. If there isn’t love towards ourselves, how can there be love radiated on others?

The ultimate meaning of service and love is to work for the welfare of others, dedicating the merit of your daily actions to all beings. This is a little more advance motivation which I will write about another time.

With wishes for your happiness, greater connection to Love and prosperity,

Christopher Lee May
