Vajrasattva Practice is One of the Best Ways to Remove Negative Karma

Vajrasattva Meditation Practice is one of the Best Ways to Remove Negative Karma from your life.

Vajrasattva is considered to be the complete embodiment of all the countless Buddhas, or pure beings, which appear to purify the negativity of all sentient beings on all levels of existence.

What are we being purified from?

The primary condition you are being purified from is the delusion and ignorance of dualistic experience, which means separation from your pure nature, and the pure nature of others. By having invested in ego based thinking and perception of “I”, “Me” and “Mine” for countless eons, you and I have undergone a hypnotic state of misguided living. This delusion leads to creating negative karma through selfishness, anger, fear, aggression, greed and leads to harmful actions in daily life. Vajrasattva is one of the best ways to remove negative karma.

Imagine for a moment that everyone is truly connected at the deepest level of existence, and that we all want the same thing, which is pure happiness. Then take a look around you at the state of living, acting, feeling and thinking of the current world.

Is there a great deal of separatism in all human consciousness?

Do human beings suffer from misguided beliefs as well as suffering caused by an endless wheel of constant desires?

Do each of us take actions which harm ourselves and others?

This is why we need this connection to the pure presence of Vajrasattva within us, within one another and at the deepest level. Vajrasattva helps clear away delusion, suffering and constant cravings allowing you to find happiness in the present moment.

The practice of meditation and recitation of the Vajrasattva mantra is a powerful method for purifying our minds and actions. It has been tested for thousands upon thousands of years with enormous success.

Vajrasattva is the ultimate embodiment of the aspects of all the Buddhas, and is an expression of the Diamond-like Primordial Purity of the Buddha Nature within each individual being. The phrase Sattva approximately translates as a pure being, a spiritual hero or heroine in complete union with the highest level of being.

The approximate or rough meaning of Vajrasattva is this; Vajra translates as ‘diamond thunderbolt’ which is intended to communicate the notion of unbreakable, clear and pure energy of the pure nature of all beings. Vajrasattva is also representative of the 100 Peaceful and Wrathful Deities considered to be embodied in each sentient being’s charkas and channels, also known as energy points.

The balancing of this energy in your physical, emotional, mental and higher bodies brings about the Union of Compassion and Skillful Means or Wisdom in your life.

The Vajrasattva Practice is for mental, emotional and physical purification. It is one of the most powerful, easiest to accomplish and will produce a clearing of obstacles in life.

When you create a garden, you first clear the area of weeds, rocks and stones. The same is true in the garden of your life. Using this purification practice in daily life clears the ground of your body, emotions and mind.

Vajrasattva is the deity that embodies the purification powers of all the Buddhas. If one practices sincerely with the correct motivation, all the negativities we have accumulated in this life and previous lives can be removed.

Doing Vajrasattva retreat is not simply about reciting the mantra and saying some prayers. It is about making the practice effective for your mind, making it the quickest, most powerful way to transform your mind. Those experienced in meditation have advised that, in general, it is more important to put your everyday life’s effort into the practice of purification – this is the way to attain spiritual realization. This practice booklet contains the short and long practice of Vajrasattva as well a Vajrasattva tsog. It also contains commentary, retreat advice, alter set-up and retreat preliminaries.
