This porject a worldwide effort to develop a Christmas reforestation project to honor Michael Jackson who supported environmental causes throughout his adult life. All those who participate can plant trees 2009, 2010 and in the following years as well.

We are committed to planting at least a million trees by the end of the year 2009. With tens of millions of Michael Jackson fans, it shouldn’t be too hard to do.

Whether you are a fan of Michael Jackson or not, the world needs your help in healing several hundred years of heavy tree harvesting in the US, Europe, Asia and elsewhere in the world.

You can also help by spreading the word to everyone you know via the following methods:

* word of mouth to anyone you know
* boy scout or girl scout troop activity
* getting your local environmental group involved
* and linking us to any press connections.

It only costs $15.00 to plant 15 trees through American Forests, the nations oldest non-profit organization whose sole mission is reforestation. See them on-line at http://www.americanforests.org/ They have set up a special account for this Million Trees for Michael project. Please American Forests to make arrangements to plant your trees. You can always plant more than 15 trees of course.

Planting trees is also a wonderful memorial gift, anniversary, birthday, holiday, mothers day, fathers day, graduation or thank you gift for your family members, friends and colleagues.

All proceeds go directly to American Forests for reforestation efforts.

This is a wonderful way to honor Michael Jackson, and rebuilt the back bone of the world’s ecosystems by planting trees. Trees absorb carbon dioxide, one of the biggest green house gases. They also cool the Earth, dramatically reduce soil erosion when it rains, and provide habitat for thousands of creatures. Trees are one of the most precious members of the natural world, and we need to rapidly reforest many areas devastated by fire, weather or human harvesting of trees.

Planting trees is an activity anyone can engage in. At only $1.00 per tree this is a bargain. American Forests also cooperates with reforestation efforts in many other countries throughout the world.
