The Healing Power of The Gurus…

We are offering this inspirational story about the power of faith and miracles, The Healing Power of The Gurus, from our friend Jangchub Pelmo, aka Diana Gorbea. Diana is a practitioner and student in the Vayrayana, Tibetan Buddhist tradition who practices Reiki and other healing arts in Arizona.

Her story illustrates the power of faith, devotion and the Bodhisattva vow to work for the welfare of others. The most powerful message is how faith, devotion and commitment to serve the Guru, which is one of the founding principles of Vajrayana Buddhism, can bring benefit to those in need. It is through that strong connection and faith, created through devotion to the Guru, which transmits the healing power. The Guru is none other than an embodiment of enlightened mind which we are all connected to if we open to that part of ourselves and life.

And, now to Jangchub Pelmo (Diana Gorbea) story…

I am back from Argentina where I did healings on two people in a coma at a neurological hospital in Buenos Aires. It is amazing how Reiki is now recognized in Hospitals and more and more Doctors are allowing reiki practitioners to work on their patients.

I arrived in Buenos Aires on a Friday morning and headed to the hospital where a little one year old boy had been in a coma for five days. Lucio had drowned the previous Sunday and had been dead for 27 minutes until the hospital Staff resucitated him. His parents knew of me through someone else and asked me to work on Lucio.

I worked on him from 1 pm to 3 pm in the intensive care unit , praying intensively to Medicine Buddha and all the Gurus and Boddhisattvas to come into the hospital and help me with this little boy. I called upon all the Gurus and begged that any amount of virtue that I had accumulated (karmic merit) in any previous times to all go to wake the little boy…….and he started to wake up and move. By 3:30 he started coughing and opened his eyes. At that moment I gave thanks to all the Gurus and realized their power.

My dear friend, and Reiki Master student Jorge, was also at the same hospital, with Non-Hodginks disease and had been in a coma for the past ten days. I was not sure what to expect when I arrived into his room, and the sight made me very sad. I could not bare to see him like that. So, I left his room and did some Chi gong and Medicine Buddha prayers from another room and two hours later I went back into his room. I spoke to him softly and asked him to return if that was his plan. Jorge opened his eyes and looked at me.

I said “Hola! Do you know who I am?” He nodded yes. I asked , “do you know my name? “He said ” Diana”.

We hugged and kissed and I explained that I had travelled to work on him for five consecutive days and he beamed!

I was lucky enough to have the doctors and medical personnel allow me to be there anytime of the day or night doing prayers and healings.

I also worked on a person who requested to have a healing, so I told him that I would be able to do one. When I placed my hands on his body he started shaking and acted as if he was possessed and his whole body went stiff and started screaming that he was the devil and he was waiting to come back into this person’s body. I got very very scared and did not know what to do, so immediately I started doing prayers and Geshe Dakpa came to my mind and I called upon the Guru to help me.

I took strong refuge in the Guru and requested Geshe Dakpa to come help me with this person! I worked on him for an hour and finally was able to bring him back to reality and he said that he felt great and relieved!

As soon as I returned to USA, I called Geshe la and explained what happened with the healing and the demons, and taking strong refuge in him, Geshe la laughed really hard and asked me, did you get scared? I said yes, but I felt the power of the Guru in me. And told him that at that time I realized all the Lam Rim teachings explaining how important the Gurus are.

After five days of working on both people in a coma I flew back to USA and I just received an email saying that Jorge got out of bed and got transferred to new hospital and it was a miracle!

Regarding Little Lucio they did a CT scan last week and there is no sign of brain damage.

I believe that the power of the guru and prayer is beyond our (at least mine) believe. We just need to do it!
