Discover a Rare Gem of Healing, Joy, Compassion and Purity in the Dark Red Amulet.

What is Vajrakilaya practice and why is it important to a Tibetan Buddhist, someone involved with yogic practices or lay practitioners of meditation alike?

Vajrakilaya Practice is important because if you practice and enjoy meditation, then this enriching meditation practice holds great promise for your lasting experience of deeper happiness.

And, if you are interested in psychological healing, purification, removable of obstacles and negativity within your own mind, then this is an effective meditation practice for you as well.

Finally, if you are a person who holds the view that loving-kindness, compassion and prosperity are important human qualities, which naturally gives rise to wishing to experience a fuller life, greater happiness and joy in the world at large, then this practice is worth exploring further. Vajrakilaya is a part of the deepest part of the mind which seeks to clear the way for all beings to enjoy life more.

Vajrakilaya Practice can powerfully subdue negativity, egotism, selfishness and all forms of human suffering.

Vajrakilaya, from the two root words, Vajra(meaning Diamond-like purity, and primordial pure power from enlightened mind), and Kilaya (meaning to cut through and nail down or hold down negative forces) is a wrathful, cleansing deity practice, stemming from the Eight Heruka Sadhanas of the ancient translations of Tibet.

Vajrakilaya embodies the enlightened activity of all the Buddhas, manifesting in an intensely wrathful, yet completely compassionate form, in order to subjugate the delusions and negativity that can arise as obstacles to the practice of Dharma or living a happy life. This practice is intended to clear away with strength any and all negative forms of thinking, acting and feeling within yourself, and the energy field around you. Vajrakilaya practice is a protective practice, but not to be seen as simply protection from outside, rather protection from, and clearing away ones’ own negativity.

The great Buddhist Master from the 8th century, Guru Rinpoche aka Padmasambhava, brought this practice from India and passed it on to his 25 closest heart disciples. Vajrakilaya meditation practice was passed on from master to student down through many lineages during the past 1,200 years. It is now practiced by students in the North America, Europe, Asia, South America and India. All schools of Tibetan Buddhism present practiced some forms of Vajrakilaya even though the Tantras and lineages of Vajrakilaya had their origins solely in the Nyingma tradition.

The recent publication of a splendid, elegant and easy to access book about Vajrakilaya is THE DARK RED AMULET: Oral Instructions on the Practice of Vajrakilaya, by Khenchen Palden Sherab Rinpoche and Khenpo Tsewang Dongyal Rinpoche. I believe this inspirational text
creates a fresh perspective on one of the lineages of this practice. I highly recommend that you read a copy of The Dark Red Amulet. This rendition presents the Vajrayana practice of Vajrakilaya according to the oral transmission lineage of the great seventeenth-century treasure-revealer Tsasum Lingpa.

Vajrakilaya embodies the enlightened activity of all the Buddhas that subjugates delusion and negativity in order to clear obstacles to spiritual practice. The essential purpose of Vajrakilaya practice is to “discover the absolute Vajra nature that will transform every duality hindrance into clear wisdom and compassion.”

In this newer text on the Vajrakilaya clearing practice, the renowned scholars and meditation masters Khenchen Palden Sherab Rinpoche and KhenpoTsewang Dongyal Rinpoche present a concise history of this lineage in which the memorable story of arduous path Tsasum Lingpa took in revealing this terma teaching. Their commentaries on the short, condensed Sadhanas (meditation practices) will provide the reader with invaluable guidance for to combine the skillful means of compassion and wisdom which are the very foundations of Tibetan Buddhism.

The powerful Vajrakilaya Chant on Cd by His Eminence Garchen Rinpoche, Lamas and the Garchen Sangha is available from us at FourGates.com. It has a 68 minute runtime on a single Cd. I recommend playing this Cd seven days prior to the full moons, and then daily during the late Fall and Winter months, or whenever obstacles occur in your life. This Vajrakilaya Chant provides benefit to listen or play in the background of your home, MP3 player of portable MP3 device.

Finally, the use of the Varjakilaya Incense is helpful as well.
Vajrakilaya coil incense provides cleansing, protection and purification of the space in and around your home, shrine room, altar, office. Burning the Vajrakilaya Incense increases the energy of protection, clearing of negative influences while inviting protective energies through scent. It will increase and create a sense of well-being in your environment.
