AHIMSA PEACE CELEBRATION 2009
Sunday December 6, 1-3 pm

In honor and commemoration of His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s being a Nobel Peace Prize Recipient, Emaho Foundation is celebrating the annual Ahimsa Peace gathering. There will educational programs, food and community enjoyment.

Join Emaho and the community in our annual AHIMSA celebration with a film viewing and a traditional Tibetan lunch at Emaho Center.

On Sunday December 6 we will be showing the film ’10 Questions for the Dalai Lama’. Venerable Geshe Jampa, the resident lama for the Emaho Foundation will introduce the film. A traditional Tibetan lunch with momos, Thupa soup, and salad will be served after the film showing.

The Emaho Center is located at 1402 Miller Road in Scottsdale, Arizona.

Ahimsa is the Buddhist term for “non-harming”. We will celebrate the 20th anniversary of the 1989 awarding of the Nobel Peace Prize to His Holiness the Dalai Lama, the world’s best-known Tibetan Buddhist leader and international figurehead in the cause for peace on our planet.

Mahatma Gandhi used the phrase Ahimsa to focus attention on his work for peace and justice without violence in the campaign to help the Indian people gain their dignity, legal and moral freedoms back from the English in the early to mid 20th century. The Dalai Lama has continued to carry on this tradition of justice through peaceful means in an effort to help the Tibetan people have their cultural, religious and moral rights protected in Tibet.

The suggested donation for AHIMSA PEACE CELEBRATION 2009 is only $10 per person. Families are welcome. You do not have to be a member of the Emaho community to attend, all are welcome.

Please email us by November 30 to confirm so that the meal can be planned. Send you inquiries to: mail at emahofoundation.org
